At No.54 Interiors, we design and make genuinely bespoke kitchens and cabinetry for dining spaces, individually developed for each project and crafted in our Worcestershire workshop.
That might mean a contemporary kitchen that can be concealed when not in use, a more traditional design that sits comfortably within a period property, or a kitchen that becomes part of a larger living and dining space.
Whatever the brief, we start with the room and what you want to achieve, then develop the layout, cabinetry, materials and details around it. No predetermined ranges, standard cabinet sizes or house style. Just a kitchen designed specifically for you, then made by us.

MORE THAN A PLACE TO COOK
Kitchens have become some of the hardest-working rooms in our homes. They’re places to cook, gather, entertain, work and spend time together, often with several things happening at once. Getting that balance right takes more than arranging cabinets around appliances.
We look at how the space works as a whole, considering movement, storage, seating, lighting, materials and the relationship between the kitchen and the rooms around it. Sometimes the solution is beautifully straightforward. Sometimes it involves rethinking the layout entirely.
Because every piece of cabinetry is designed from scratch, we’re free to explore possibilities that wouldn’t necessarily exist within a standard kitchen range. Depending on your home and how you use it, that might include:

GENUINELY BESPOKE. FROM FIRST DRAWING TO FINAL DETAIL
There’s a difference between personalising a kitchen and having one designed entirely for you.
For us, bespoke doesn’t mean choosing a door style, changing a few cabinet dimensions and selecting from a range of finishes. It means starting with a blank sheet of paper.
We’re an interior designer and a cabinet maker working together, which means we’re considering both the wider design of the space and the practicalities of making it from the very beginning.
A change in proportion might make a room feel more balanced. A different cabinet construction might allow us to accommodate an awkward corner or integrate an unusual appliance. A particular material or detail might be carried through from the kitchen into the dining area.
These decisions aren’t simply about appearance. They’re about creating cabinetry that works properly, feels considered and belongs in the home it was designed for.
And because we make what we design in our own workshop, there’s a direct connection between the original concept and the finished cabinetry. We can develop individual components, refine details and make decisions based on what’s right for the project rather than what’s available from a manufacturer.
We don’t have a signature kitchen style, and that’s quite deliberate.

MADE FOR REAL HOMES //
ONE BRIEF. AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT KIND OF KITCHEN
Our clients wanted a kitchen that didn’t look like a kitchen. For their Cheltenham home, that meant creating a large, welcoming space for cooking and entertaining, while keeping much of the working kitchen concealed when it wasn’t in use.
We developed a full-height wall of cabinetry, finished in textured oak veneer, with bi-folding pocket doors that open to reveal the practical workings of the kitchen. Behind the doors sit appliances, storage, preparation areas and lighting, all organised around the way the clients wanted to use the room.
A substantial island provides the everyday working space, while the wider layout connects naturally with the dining area.
The project required us to consider far more than the appearance of the cabinet doors. Internal arrangements, mechanisms, services, materials and the way each element would operate were all developed as part of the design.
It’s a good example of what becomes possible when the cabinetry is designed around a particular brief rather than adapted from an existing range.
We’d been looking for our dream kitchen for so long, exploring all the options from high-end designs to Ikea, but none could quite match our specific brief – until we met Zoe and Shaun. They totally understood what we wanted, a kitchen that acknowledged the age and character of the property but mixed in a more modern touch, without it feeling much like a kitchen at all. The design, the quality of their workmanship, and their patience and flexibility with a long and often challenging build going on around them were truly exceptional. We absolutely love our new kitchen, it’s everything we hoped for and more.

WHAT DOES A GENUINELY BESPOKE KITCHEN COST?
Every kitchen we make is individually designed and priced, but we know it’s helpful to understand the likely level of investment before starting a conversation.
As an initial guide, our bespoke kitchens start from around £20,000 including VAT for a relatively straightforward painted Shaker design, without an island. This includes design, manufacture and installation, but excludes worktops and appliances.
Larger kitchens and more individual designs, particularly those involving specialist materials, complex cabinetry, bespoke islands or integrated dining furniture, can represent a considerably greater investment.
We don’t offer fixed kitchen packages or price by the number of cabinets. Instead, we develop each project around its particular requirements, discussing likely costs early so you can make informed decisions about the design and specification.
HOW WE WORK //
FROM FIRST IDEAS TO FINAL INSTALLATION
Designing a kitchen involves a lot of decisions, from the overall layout to the position of a socket or the way a particular door opens.
We bring the design and making together, developing the cabinetry in detail before it reaches our workshop. Having the design and production under one roof helps us maintain quality and protect the original design throughout the process.
01 // CONSULTATION
We begin by getting to know you and your home, how you use your kitchen and what you’d like to change.
We’ll discuss the layout, your priorities, how you cook and entertain, what needs storing and any architectural or practical considerations that will influence the design.
02 // DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT
From there, we develop the design through plans, elevations and 3D visuals, exploring the layout, proportions, cabinetry, materials, finishes and individual details.
We’ll also consider appliances, worktops, lighting, plumbing and electrical requirements so they can be incorporated into the overall scheme.
The design is refined together before we prepare the detailed information needed for production.
03 // MAKING
Once everything is agreed, we make your cabinetry in our Worcestershire workshop.
From the construction of individual cabinets to the machining of bespoke details and the application of finishes, the work is carried out with the finished design in mind.
Having our own workshop and spray-finishing facilities gives us control over the making process and allows the design to be followed through in detail.
04 // INSTALLATION
We install the cabinetry ourselves, rather than handing the project over to a separate installation team. That means we remain responsible for the final fit, alignment and finishing details.
Where other trades or suppliers are involved, we coordinate the relevant requirements so worktops, appliances, plumbing, electrics and lighting can come together with the cabinetry as intended.

What's the difference between a bespoke kitchen and a kitchen from a high-street supplier?
Many kitchen suppliers offer extensive choices of doors, colours, finishes and internal fittings, allowing you to create a kitchen that feels personal to you.
Our approach is different because we don’t begin with a predetermined range of cabinets.
We design the cabinetry specifically for your room, including its dimensions, proportions, construction, internal arrangements, materials and detailing. We then make it ourselves in our Worcestershire workshop.
That gives us much greater freedom to develop the design around your particular requirements.
How much does a bespoke kitchen cost?
As a starting guide, our bespoke kitchens begin from around £20,000 including VAT for a relatively straightforward painted Shaker design, without an island. This includes design, manufacture and installation, but excludes worktops and appliances.
Larger or more complex kitchens can cost considerably more, depending on the cabinetry, materials, specialist mechanisms, finishes and level of detail involved.
Every project is individually priced, and we’ll discuss likely investment early so you have a realistic understanding of costs before progressing into detailed design.
Can you design a kitchen in any style?
Yes. We don’t have a standard kitchen range or a particular house style.
Our work can be contemporary, traditional, mid-century inspired or something that doesn’t sit neatly within any particular category.
We’ll consider the architecture of your home, your preferences and how you want the space to feel, then develop the design, materials and details accordingly.
Can you design a kitchen and dining space together?
Absolutely. In fact, looking at the space as a whole often leads to a better result.
We can design kitchen cabinetry alongside islands, banquettes, built-in seating, cupboards and other furniture for dining areas, allowing the proportions, materials and detailing to work together.
This is particularly useful in open-plan and broken-plan spaces where cooking, dining and living areas need to feel connected.
Can you conceal appliances or create a hidden kitchen?
Yes. We can incorporate appliance garages, breakfast cupboards, concealed storage and pocket-door cabinetry, depending on the requirements of the project.
We’ve also designed kitchens where substantial areas of the working space can be concealed behind full-height doors.
These solutions require careful consideration of mechanisms, ventilation, electrical requirements and how the cabinetry will operate in everyday use, all of which we address during the design process.
Can you design a kitchen around an awkward space or period property?
Yes. Because we aren’t restricted by standard cabinet dimensions, we can design around uneven walls, chimney breasts, alcoves, sloping ceilings and other architectural features.
We can also develop cabinetry that responds to the character of an older property, whether that’s through proportions, materials, door construction or individual decorative details.
Do you supply worktops and appliances?
We can incorporate worktops, appliances, sinks, taps and other fittings into the overall kitchen design and help coordinate their sourcing and installation.
The precise scope of what we supply and manage will be agreed as part of your project, so it’s clear what’s included in our quotation and what may be provided by other suppliers or trades.
How long does it take to design and make a bespoke kitchen?
Timescales depend on the size and complexity of the project, the design development required and the availability of materials and specialist components.
The process includes consultation, design development, detailed drawings, workshop production and installation.
We’ll discuss realistic timescales at the outset and coordinate with any wider building or renovation programme where required.
Where do you design and install bespoke kitchens?
We’re based in Redditch, Worcestershire, and work with clients across Worcestershire, Warwickshire, the Cotswolds, Cheltenham and surrounding areas.
We also work alongside interior designers on projects further afield, so if your home is outside our usual area, you’re welcome to get in touch.
